- Academically Challenging Curriculum: Students delve into subjects like literature, composition, grammar, science (thermal physics, organic chemistry, anatomy, geology), and mathematics (permutations and combinations).
- Experiential and Engaging Learning: Waldorf education emphasizes learning through hands-on activities, artistic exploration, movement, and engaging Main Lesson blocks that deeply immerse students in a subject for several weeks. This fosters critical thinking, understanding, and creativity, rather than just memorization.
- Arts Integration: Art, music, and drama are integral to the Waldorf approach, woven into all subjects to cultivate creativity, self-expression, and deeper understanding. Ninth grade includes drama (comedy and tragedy) and visual arts like black-and-white drawing, clay vessels, descriptive geometry, and even blacksmithing.
- Emphasis on Practical Skills and Community: Students engage in activities like handwork (basketry, weaving, metalwork) and service learning, promoting valuable life skills, teamwork, and a sense of responsibility.
- Holistic Development: Waldorf education addresses the intellectual, emotional, social, and physical development of the student, nurturing well-rounded individuals ready for life's challenges.
- Strong College Preparation: Waldorf graduates are highly sought after by universities and colleges, known for their ability to think critically, be flexible, take intellectual risks, and pursue their goals.
- Literature: Focus on novels, composition, and grammar.
- Mathematics: Introduction to permutations and combinations.
- Science: Exploration of thermal physics, organic chemistry, anatomy, and geology.
- History: Study of Indigenous history, revolutions, and history through art.
- Arts and Practical Disciplines: Black and white drawing, clay vessels, descriptive geometry, blacksmithing, and more.
- Movement: Eurythmy, physical education, and activities focused on developing coordination and spatial awareness.
- Languages: Often includes a foreign language like Spanish or German.
- Overnight Field Trip: An immersive experience in agriculture and geology.
Give your child the gift of a rich, engaging, and purposeful ninth-grade experience. The Earthschooling Waldorf approach helps students develop into confident, self-directed learners prepared for a lifetime of success.

If you are in ninth grade these will be the core classes you will take. If you are in tenth, eleventh or twelfth grade you should browse these courses and choose to take some if you have not already covered the subject before, or if you need review.
Lifetime Member Note: The Lifetime curriculum does not include high school - even for old members. The high school program has been converted into a Living Lessons Only Program which is not owned by Earthschooling completely. For this reason, we cannot include it as one of “our” published curriculum packages. It is only possible to get access to this program by purchasing it on its own through WaldorfSchoolOnline.com . It is also still available for purchase at Earthschooling.com. However, it is not considered part of the Earthschooling curriculum. If you already have access your access will continue. The natural well-being classes are owned by The Avicenna Institute.
